Description: Do you live for the waves? Do you love the feel of sand in your hair & the sun on your face? If so you?ve found the right project! This is an amazing opportunity to join a great team of people working together to teach under-privileged children from the townships how to surf! Spend your mornings on the beach, your afternoons helping in a feeding programme in one of the poorest townships in the area, and your evenings chilling out to the sound of the waves! It doesn't matter if you can't surf - we will teach you! :)This is a unique opportunity to surf south africa's beautiful coast and at the same time to make a tangible difference to the lives of some of the more deprived children in the local area.The focus for all volunteers based in this beach side location is to inspire change in young lives. Through providing free surfing lessons for children and teenagers from the deprived neighbourhoods, the team aims to encourage these young people away from the gangs, away from begging and addiction, and instead to encourage them into lives which have a constructive focus, purpose and meaning.This is a project with a strong Christian ethos, and the work revolves around the Bible teaching which is also provided for the young people. The team are not seeking to force faith on others, but are simply to share their personal passion for God and to live out their personal faith to inspire change in others.If you feel you can live out your faith and inspire young lives in a positive direction, whilst catching the waves of this amazing coastline, then this is a fantastic opportunity for you. It doesn't matter what level of surfing you are at - or even if you have never surfed before - you will be provided with lessons relevant for whatever level you are at. You will support the team in helping to deliver education, surf lessons and in building a positive community for the kids to be part of.

Strong swimmers, personal faith. 18+
