What would you do?
As a Senior Technical (Pre-sales) Specialist you will take a driving role in enabling their capability to dovetail with customer infrastructures.
Your work will predominantly be focused on larger enterprise organisations, where you will enable customers to take their first move to Cloud Computing. You will be the architect of the plans, and will be instrumental in ensuring success thereof too.
You will be comfortable in working with customers before a sale is concluded, helping the customer evaluate their product in line with their email infrastructure, ascertaining their needs technically, and articulating how they can address their technical challenges. You will form an important part of the sales team, ensuring that any and all technical risks are mitigated successfully.
You will be comfortable using the rapport you have built with the customer after the sale to ensure that the customer has connected successfully to, filling the role of a trusted advisor, and also the bridge between the customer’s technical folk and the client’s team. Your expertise will be called upon after the sale to provide the customer with additional information – providing leadership – in further email and cloud trends.
The Pre-Sales Team builds a critical bridge between their Email management
product, and the customer’s need, from a technical point of view. This dovetails seamlessly with their Channel and Field sales teams, who drive opportunities through Partners/Re-sellers and commercial stages respectively. You will be required to support the sales process from start to finish, from Technical Managers to Boards of Directors.
While they have an Implementation Team, you may be required to Project Manage and Lead elements of the customers’ transition to the product.
Collaborate with sales resources to address any and all technical concerns during sales cycles
Able to recognise and relate specific technical features as business benefit
Build pre-sales competencies within all sales teams
Identify and mitigate all technical risks associated with relevant sales engagements to improve sales closure ratios and ensure customer satisfaction
To be able to discuss and design solutions for a wide range of technical ICT projects within the Small/Medium and Enterprise businesses
Prepare and conduct impactful and meaningful Technical and Product demonstrations as requested by sales personnel

Can you apply?
Matric & tertiary qualification (IT)
Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in a similar role
Understanding of E-mail architecture and ideally deployment experience with Microsoft Exchange
Understand email protocol, and the infrastructure required to support it
Ability to establish & maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle
Passion for understanding the technical needs of the customer and articulating the value of the products and solutions in meeting those needs at an Enterprise Level
Demonstrable relevant experience in a reputable technology vendor or Systems Integrator
Industry specific knowledge of email infrastructure and cloud-computing
Well-versed in Microsoft-based infrastructures
Comfortable in support direct and indirect sales initiatives
Demonstrable comfort in support managerial and exco-level presentations
Working involvement in enterprise deployments of technology according to a project-orientated methodology
Experience managing a team of Technical staff; Operational experience of email servers, networks and archiving technologies; Compliance, eDiscovery and Storage management; Scripting language (any); VBScript Troubleshooting experience of server and network performance issues; LINUX deployment skills.
